What is a bleed?
A bleed occurs when an image extends past the trim edge of the product. If your image doesn’t have white borders on all four sides, you’ll need to include bleeds in your files. Add 1/8” (0.125”) to each side of the file. For instance, if you’re creating a business card that measures 2”x3.5” with a full bleed, the image size should be 2.25”x3.75”.
